Dwight Yoakam

This actor/writer/director is perhaps better known for his long and successful country music career, for which he has won two Grammy awards. He began his acting career in high school but put it aside for several years to pursue music. He returned to acting in his 30s, and has caught the attention of critics and fans alike with his strong portrayals in such films as Sling Blade and The Newton Boys. He turned to screenwriting and directing with South of Heaven, West of Hell, in which he also stars.
