Brown02009-05-20Stephen King review # 2The second King t.v. mini series, but the first one to try and stay as truthful to the source novel as possible. While I appreciated Tobe Hooper's rendition of Salem's Lot, I still felt the acting, production value, and alterations to the story were all too typical of television movies, plus it looked like it was filmed through a dirty cloth. Stephen King's It was a big deal when it came out back in 1990, and though it was a lot scarier the first time I saw it when I was 9, I still feel it's an effective horror film in its own right.

The first half of the story, the first night of two, is based on the main chracters' childhoods and their first and supposed final confrontations with the creature simply known as It. It gets its name from the fact that it is an unknown supernatural being that can manifest or take the form of young kids' fears and nightmares. One standout scene that is quite effective is the one involving a scared young girl desperately trying to clean blood from her bathroom sink but getting nowhere. The preteens all play their roles quite well, especially Emily Perkings(Ginger Snaps 1-3) and Jonathan Brandis(Lady Bugs, Sea Quest). The first half is set in the 50's and has that sweet and overly nostalgic feel with classic rock tunes and production design. It sets things up for a surrene and nice setting and then we meet Pennywise, played brilliantly as funny and scary, by Tim Curry. Pennywise takes the shape of the creepiest circus clowns you've ever seen. King was smart for this one. I mean, really, who the hell actually likes clowns? The transitions from typical nostalgic fueled 50's to out-and-out terror and horror film conventions is very effective in this movie.

The second half is littered with t.v. pedigree'd actors of the likes of John Ritter, Harry Anderson, Annette O'tool and Richard Thomas. The second half of the tale, involving the older versions of the first half's characters, takes place 30 years after the end of the first night and unfortunately is less effective. There are many reasons for this. One of them being that we get very attached to the young performers in the first half, even though the first night lets us glimpse the older ones, that it's hard to lose them and their performances. Not to slight the older performances at all. John Ritter is a real stand out in this, though they all hit it out of the park in general.

Other problems with the second half come in the form of the ending. Though, we can't completely fault the filmmakers for this. King wrote the ending that the film stays true to, but on the page a giant spider-like monster is a lot scarier in the imagination of the reader then it is on film visualised by special effects and one group of filmmakers'imaginations. The special effects in this movie are really good though, especially when you take into consideration that it was made on a television budget and time schedule and in the early 90's! That's one thing that horror fiction prose will always have over movies, the monster on the brain will always be scarier then the one on screen, no matter how well the speical effects are executed, CGI or other.

Anyone who has read the novle know how very long it was and how long the epilogue runs on after the main climax has occurred. The film, even at three hours, it's truncated for pace, time and content, content too violent or racy for t.v. viewrs in the 90's, especially on the family friendly ABC network. Though, today I feel this is all kids stuff when compared to what's allowed to air on comercial t.v. I really do miss the ritualistic thing the kids do before they fight the monster the first time in the book, though. The film was co-written and directed by Tommy Lee Wallace(Halloween III, Fright Night part II), and co-written by Lawrence D. Cohen(De Palma version of Carrie). Wallace came up in the film business working with horror royalty John Carpenter and he does a really good job on what must've been a monster undertaking with this film. The tone is right and this is a straight horror film, no winking. It moves fast, despite it's running time and it looks good.

The DVD is a very good transfer and it's in Widescreen. YAY and HOORAY! I didn't even know this thing was filmed in widescreen, but I'm happy to have been able to see it that way, it's more filmic and less t.v. Besides the great new widescreen transfer the only other special feature we get is an awesome commentary track by director Wallace and cast members John Ritter, Richard Thomas, Dennis Christopher and Tim Reid. It's a lively and super informative commentary that goes everywhere from the history of the project, the casting process, the fights with standards and pracctices, the deviations from the novel, the things the actors didn't like aobut the film and the things that they did, and much much more. I've listened to it twice since I've owneed this disc, it's really fun and worth checking out if you have this disc.

This is a landmark t.v. mini-series for the medium and for Stephen King translations and adaptions, even though Salem's Lot came first. This film did it right and better first. The only downfall about this DVD is the fact that it's a flipper. One half of the series on each side. Also, don't be fooled by the comedic line up of t.v. actors posted on the cover artwork. They are all very good and appropriate in their respective roles. Kudos to director Tommy Lee Wallace for having the foresight to know that all good comedy performers have a lot of darkness somewhere in their hearts. About the cover artwork, I really wish that the orignal poster was used, the same one used for the hard cover novel, but we do get to glimpse it on the DVD menu.

So, make some time and check it out, even if you have seen it already.B00006FDCD20A3E849GYQYOTAQA3E849GYQYOTAQThe PreacherPA, USA02009-05-14Needs a proper release.Where the book IT was brutal and unflinching the made-for-TV movie is soft and hokey. In the age of remakes I often wonder why this amazing story hasn't seen a proper release.

I really didn't have a problem with the children in this adaptation, even though a lot of the stories and gore were omitted, the language was also made squeaky clean but what do you expect, it's made-for-TV. I absolutely hated the adults in this, I don't know if I would feel the same way had I seen it when it first aired... but it is very dated. The acting is atrocious for both the kids and adults, but I can forgive the kids. If you thought the bizarre ending of the book didn't fit, well it fits even worse here. Overall most of the story is lost, mostly everything that makes the book such a great read is not present here. My suggestion is skip this and just read the book again.

My other suggestion is for someone to get on making IT into a proper film. Two or three movies, around two and a half hours each, c'mon and do it King.B00006FDCD50A2GLKIAYTZC1TSA2GLKIAYTZC1TSAnn L. Thibodaux12009-04-22Very pleasedI bought the book 'IT' by Stephen King. It arrived on time and in very good condition. I will continue to purchase from AmazonDescriptionBased on the King Of Horror's 1986 Best Seller, "It" is a jittery, jolting excursion into personal fear. "It" raises goosebumps-and brings out the stars. Harry Anderson, Dennis Christopher, Annette O'Toole, Tim Reid, John Ritter, Tim Curry and Richard Thomas star in this thriller about a malevolent force in a small New England town. Amazon.comIs there anything scarier than clowns? Of course not. And who knows scary better than Stephen King? You see where we're going. It puts a malevolent clown (given demented life by a powdered, red-nosed Tim Curry) front and center, as King's fat novel gets the TV-movie treatment. Even at three hours plus, the action is condensed, but an engaging Stand by Me vibe prevails for much of the running time. The seven main characters, as adolescents, conquered a force of pure evil in their Maine hometown. Now, the cackling Pennywise is back, and they must come home to fight him--or, should we say, It--again. Admitting the TV-movie trappings and sometimes hysterical performances, this is a genuinely gripping thriller. As so often with King, the basic idea (the bond formed during a childhood trauma) is clean and powerful, a lifeline anchored in reality that leads us to the supernatural. --Robert Horton 1573625779Stephen King's Storm of the CenturyB000RZIGUEStephen King Gift Set (The Langoliers / The Stand / Golden Years)0790742829Salem's LotB000GBEWRUPet Sematary (Special Collector's Edition)B00000J2KXThe Shining163390General163379Drama404276Genres130DVD139452Video722754011General AAS291513Television163379Drama404276Genres130DVD139452Video163407General163396Horror404276Genres130DVD139452Video923878General512030Mystery & Suspense404276Genres130DVD139452Video898362Haunted by the Past512032By Theme512030Mystery & Suspense404276Genres130DVD139452Video898378Race Against Time512032By Theme512030Mystery & Suspense404276Genres130DVD139452Video292287Mystery512030Mystery & Suspense404276Genres130DVD139452Video163442General163431Science Fiction & Fantasy404276Genres130DVD139452Video415914General163450Television404276Genres130DVD139452Video410500Anderson, Harry409682( A )404278Actors & Actresses251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video414106Brandis, Jonathan411316( B )404278Actors & Actresses251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video417724Christopher, Dennis416120( C )404278Actors & Actresses251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video418190Cole, Michael416120( C )404278Actors & Actresses251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video419454Curry, Tim416120( C )404278Actors & Actresses251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video425818Green, Seth424172( G )404278Actors & Actresses251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video429022Hussey, Olivia426368( H )404278Actors & Actresses251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video435762Masur, Richard434574( M )404278Actors & Actresses251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video440254O'Toole, Annette439610( O )404278Actors & Actresses251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video441220Perkins, Emily440340( P )404278Actors & Actresses251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video443150Reid, Tim442578( R )404278Actors & Actresses251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video443696Ritter, John442578( R )404278Actors & Actresses251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video449394Thomas, Richard448792( T )404278Actors & Actresses251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video463202Wallace, Tommy Lee463154( W )403502Directors251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video600330All Titles515794Warner Home Video468374Studio Specials251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video600318Drama515794Warner Home Video468374Studio Specials251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video600320Horror515794Warner Home Video468374Studio Specials251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video579548( S )579510Titles251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video1265183011Movies & TV on DVD and Blu-ray Disc Trade-In44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video387546011DVD387545011Format (binding)386709011Refinements130DVD139452Video390121011Widescreen390118011Picture Format (format)386709011Refinements130DVD139452Video405391011US & CA DVDs: Region 1405390011Region (feature_two_browse-bin)386709011Refinements130DVD139452Video5620910111990 - He has an imaginary friend (played by William Hurt) that is always encouraging him on to acts of depravation. The fact that the audience gets to see those interactions is a wonderful touch.

The casting for the movie is about perfect. I would not have imagined Kevin Costner in this role, but he pulls it off magnificiently, and William Hurt is brilliant as the imaginary side kick. No spoilers allowed, but I can tell you that Dane Cook does a good job in his role as a significant complication for Kevin Costner's character.

In the end, the film explores not only addictions, but it also explores the limits and strengths of families from the detective's overbearing, remote father to the very surreal choice that Kevin Costner's character has to make at the turning point in the film.

Robinsonknife's edgeN.C. by way of TX02009-06-24Finally under actors unite! To put it plainly I had to watch this film just to see the two greatest under-actors of their generation get emotional, William Hurt and Kevin Costner. The movie is mostly unmemorable but it is still very entertaining for its genre, which is a psychodrama character study of sorts. If I were to buy this movie its simply to see Hurt and Costner exchange lines again the plot and supporting cast were to weak to make this movie a "4 star" or higher. 630197134540A3DHQ5WO80X1IZA3DHQ5WO80X1IZAlan Starrwww.alanstarr.comLawrence, MA02009-06-09Creepy thrillerPretty good psychological thriller with Kevin Costner playing a serial killer. HarrellSoul Intent ArtsNC02009-05-29Realm of HypocritesDefinitely breathing new light into a tired genre, this film is interesting to watch. It begins sinister and ends creepy, with the ride between vacillating from dull to melodramatic. The high point of this flick is the story, not the acting. Costner played the straightman half of his serial killer persona with the same flat, deadpan delivery he's played every character he's played in the last decade. It works to a degree, as he is after all the passionless half of his persona. He hits his stride in the scenes where he loses his cool. Hurt, however, is very compelling in his role as the half of Brooks' that is the inner crazed killer. He's got some great lines. I do think that with both playing different sides of the same character, often in tandem, that brings a new challenge to being in the same scenes. They had great timing and were the only actors who seemed to have chemistry in the film. Mrs. Brooks may as well have been a prop, for all of her function surrounded validating the normality of Mr. Brooks. His daughter's secrets brought the story to life, and in many ways her character was the real foil to Mr. Brooks and not the inner persona played by Hurt. Moore overacted most of her role and just generally did not bring her to life at all. That was a disappointment. The story is incredibly sinister, which did not leave its visual needing much in the way of graphic gore. However, the final hardcore scene of the film is definitely gratuitous shock, so much so that it detracted rather enhanced Mr. Brooks' fears of the future. If you like shockers and thrillers this is a good film to see. Don't let the stodgy acting distract you.630197134540A2SZ86FLBMZPLLA2SZ86FLBMZPLLB. EtnyreroguemissiveSugarLand, TX02009-05-01different and interesting variation on a tired and uninspiring genreThere are several sub-genres of films that I generally have little or no interest in watching (especially if there is a ticket or rental price involved). Among these are the stories about assassins / hitmen as the protagonists, and films about serial murderers, including the slasher films that the horror genre has mostly devolved into. The 2 main reasons for this are: (A) both of these character types are essentially devoid of any redeeming qualities, and the notion or glorifying or glamorizing what they do is counter-intuitive at best and objectionable otherwise. And, (B) both types of films with very few exceptions have proven to have a significant lack of imagination and originality, with scripts that stress the action or violence or gore, but are rather mundane in terms of plot and characters.

[...]

This film (MR. BROOKS) was better than expected, although it should be pointed out the expectations for it (at least in this household) weren't exactly sky-high. Along with THE GUARDIAN (Costner's best film in years) however, MR. BROOKS might possibly be among Costner's best film and performance in quite some time. He uses the same generally low-key, understated, acting style as Robert Redford, but with even more of an identifiable everyman aspect, and less of the cool aloofness that Redford effectively uses (though that's pretty much Redford's whole repertoire ). In this film, Costner's persona as Mr. Brooks was not only useful but ideal, and probably essential.

The plot of the film MR. BROOKS - for those who don't already know and are in fact interested - revolves around a seemingly normal and nice guy who is a devoted husband & father, a highly successful businessman, and regarded as a pillar of the community... but who is also a highly skillful and clever prolific serial murderer. What makes this a slight variation from the tired and unimaginative slasher sub-genre is the empathy the character tries to elicit from the viewers/audience: he sees himself as an addict to a terrible habit (homicide) which he loathes and feels remorse about, rather than revels in. He even goes to various support group meetings and introduces himself as an addict. The character is portrayed as someone who seems to earnestly try and beat or at least control his compulsions to indulge his most dark impulses, but who also inevitably falls short on occasion. Not making this task any easier is the malevolent influence of his alter-ego/imaginary friend (played by William Hurt), who constantly tries goading Mr. Brooks towards diabolical temptation, and undermining Brooks's efforts at staying on the straight & narrow path of decency and abstinence (from murder).

[...] Overexposed & irritatingly unfunny comic Dane Cook plays "Mr. Smith", a creepy blackmailer who inadvertently sees (and photographs) Mr. Brooks at the scene of a double homicide. Rather than report this horrific crime to the police, `Mr. Smith' has another sinister agenda.

The surprisingly taut and engaging tension in the film comes from 4 sources of conflict: Mr. Brooks's struggle with his homicidal tendencies (both internally and depicted by his conversations with the manifested alter persona), the tenacious police detective investigating the homicides, the blackmailing creep who tries to foist his sinister agenda upon Mr. Brooks, and another growing crisis which hits alarmingly close to home for Mr. Brooks.

There are a few relatively minor lapses of logic and realism in the plot, but these can be overlooked for the sake of an otherwise competent story and film with good pacing and effective performances.

While I find the premise of a guilt-ridden serial-killer who sees his condition as a regrettable addiction rather than a hobby or pastime he revels in as an interesting take on what is otherwise a trite and uncreative genre, what bothers me is the objectionable suggestion by/of implication that he is in some way a victim. Our society - or more accurately a misguided liberal segment's notion of displaced pity - has far too much of an irresponsible tendency to automatically impute virtue to victimhood (without taking into account the victims' culpability in cases where it applies), and even worse is the odious inclination to try moral equivocation by inappropriately and illogically conferring some status of `victim' to those who actually perpetrate crimes and harm upon others (the actual victims). The murdered victims in the film are shown either as little more than mobile and briefly auditory props, or portrayed as somewhat dubious characters that somehow deserve or have a part in bringing about their demises.

That having been said, the director does a good job of maintaining suspense throughout the film once the dark truth about Mr. Brooks is known. It is also impressive to some degree the way that the film presents the premise in which the protagonist is a doer of evil deeds, yet still manages to persuade (at least some of) the audience to root (counter intuitively, I would hope) for him. This works because of the skillful & capable way the character of Mr. Brooks is written and portrayed as complicated, complex, multi-dimensional, who possesses some decent and even to some degree - dare I say - identifiable traits. The credit and kudos for this goes to Costner and the director, with some going to the writer(s) as well. Though this film will probably find more favor with those who value suspenseful drama than it likely will with those who prefer gory sensationalism, as the murders shown are not especially graphic. Whether or not you are a fan of the horror genre, most people will likely approve of a movie with a good pacing, an effectively sustained sense of suspense, and a well-written script that features capably developed characters. This film is deserving of 3.5 stars if this were an option on Amazon.com, but I am feeling a bit charitable, partly due to the unexpected appreciation of this movie, as well as for seeing a movie that had shown at least a shred of originality and imagination during an ongoing creativity drought in the cinematic realm that has for several years been relying on remakes, adaptations, sequels, and insipidly indistinctive cookie-cutter banalities.
DescriptionConsider MR. BROOKS. A successful businessman. A generous philanthropist. A loving father and devoted husband. Seemingly, he's perfect. But Mr. Brooks has a secret... he is also the notorious Thumbprint Killer and no one has ever suspected it... until now.Amazon.comKevin Costner as a warped serial killer, a pillar of the community whose dark side is embodied by an on-screen William Hurt? You have to admit, it sounds intriguing, right? Mr. Brooks is the vehicle for this unsavory story, and it turns out to be a lot less kicky than it sounds. Mr. Brooks is a Portland, Oregon tycoon and philanthropist whose "addiction" to murder is suddenly re-surfacing--with plenty of help from his sneering alter ego, who generally sits in the back of the car, goading Mr. Brooks on. (The other characters can't see William Hurt in all this, of course.) The unbelievably convoluted plot has Mr. Brooks confronted by a blackmailer (comedian Dane Cook) who has a surprising twist on things, and trailed by a cop (Demi Moore) who comes equipped with her own set of professional and marital woes. As if that weren't enough, when Brooks's daughter (Danielle Panabaker) comes home, it becomes clear that some traits run in the family.
The scenes with Costner and Hurt are the best stuff in the film, even if director Bruce Evans can't figure out how to play fair visualizing their presence to others. But the script, which among other whoppers make Demi Moore's character a millionaire, is just too unbelievable to stomach. If William Hurt's character provided a running commentary for this movie, there wouldn't be anything left after he got through mocking it. --Robert Horton

The
World Tag Team Championships
The Big Show and Kane vs. Carlito and Chris Masters
This was an average tag team match. The match was really to set up the carlito and chris masters fued. O.k. start to a great wrestlemania. Match Rating:3/5

Money In The Bank Ladder Match
Ric Flair vs. RVD vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. M. Hardy vs. Finlay vs. Lashley
This was the second annual mitb match. This wasn't as good as the first, but it was spectacular! Lots of highflying jumps and moves used with the ladders inclunding shelton jumping onto the ladder like spiderman. RVD wins the bout. Match Rating:5/5

United States Championship
Chris Benoit vs. JBL
Aggressive matchup here. The bout was o.k. until jbl cheated to win the u.s. title. JBL loses it quickley tho. Match Rating:3.5/5

Hardcore Match
Mick Foley vs. Edge
WOW! This match was defiently hardcore! The weapon use was amazing and foley even coverd himself with barbed wire. Great ending where edge spears foley through a flaming table. Great! Match Rating:5/5

Boogeyman vs. Booker T and Sharmell
This match was really the only damper on the card. Had some comedic spots with the legends. Thank goodness this match was short! Match Rating:2/5

Women's Championship
Thris Stratus vs. Mickie James
This was one of the best women's matches I have seen in a long, long time. This match had good wrestling, a intreging storyline to. Match Rating:4/5

Casket Match
The Undertaker vs. Mark Henry
This match was o.k. and got boring at some points. The Undertaker gave all he had, but mark henry kind of slowed things down. The match does have two good moments where undertaker does the dive over the casket and tombstones mark henry, then puts him in the casket to win. Match Rating:3.5/5

No Holds Barred Match
Shawn Michaels vs. Mr. McMahon
This was a perfect match for the two with the storyline coming into this. Vince got destroyed in this match and a really cool moment where hbk lays mcmahon on a table with a trashcan over his head and then gets on a huge ladder and jumps of to make mcmahon go straight through the table. Brutal and great encounter. Match Rating:5/5

Triple Threat Match For The World Heavyweight Championship
Kurt Angle vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Randy Orton
This was a great match, but way to short. If this had more time it could have been match of the night. With the time it had it was great. Lots of counters and submissions and rey wins his first world title at the end. Match Rating:4.5/5

WWE Championship
John Cena vs. Triple H
This match was very exciting. The crowd was split between the two men. This match had lots of great spots and it really shocked me when cena reversed the pedigree and locked in the stf to make triple h tap out. The crownd was stunned. This was a great wrestlemania main event. Match Rating:5/5

Great wrestlemania and it was defiently big time! I recommend this to any wwe fan out there. Also includes 2 more discs which includes saturday night's main event and the 2006 hall of fame ceremony. Great set!

Kane and Big Show vs Carlito and Chris Masters
-Decent match, general tag team match nothing too special

Money in the Bank Ladder Match
-Great match, definitely lives up to a Wrestlmania quality match

JBL vs Chris Benoit
-A decent technical match, enjoyed their chemistry in the ring, although could have been better

Edge vs Mick Foley
-Great, Great match, also a match that lives up to a Wrestlemania quality match, especially with the story behind it

Boogeyman vs Booker T and Sharmell
-Not really worth anyones time

Mickie James vs Trish Stratus
-Good women's match, especially for a Wrestlemania

The Undertaker vs Mark Henry
-I actually enjoyed this match, especially because it was a casket match. Mark Henry definitely surprised me in this one

Shawn Michaels vs Vince McMahon
-It is true when they say Shawn Michaels is the Showstopper. Great Match especially with McMahon. Great performance on both parties

Rey Mysterio vs Kurt Angle vs Randy Orton
-I am not a fan of triple threat championship matches, especially at Wrestlemania but this proved me differently. Nice, solid match.

Torrie Wilson vs Candice
-The only good thing about this match was when it ended. The two could have had a better match but the pillow fight stipulation ruined it

John Cena vs Triple H
-This was a little overdone, especially with the entrances but the overall match was so back and forth it keeps you on the edge of your seat.

I'd have to rate this dvd an 8 out of 10. With all the extra's it comes together in the end.B000EQ5PUA50A1PLOYH49KORV8A1PLOYH49KORV8Nathan OddiOhio,USA02008-11-10What a WrestleMania! What a Wrestlemania this turned out to be.The dark match before the show which is an 18 man Battle Royal match was won by Viscera.

The first match that was broadcasted is a tag team match between Big Show and Kane vs. Carlito and Chris Masters for the World Tag Team Championships. Not a bad match but it was pretty slow.Kane and Big Show win.I give this a 6.5 out of 10.

The second match was Money in the Bank. Not the most exciting MITB but it was a very good match.RVD wins MITB.I give this a 7 out of 10.

The third match was JBL vs. Chris Benoit for the United States Championship. It was a good match but the ending was crappy.JBL wins by cheating(as usual.)6 out of 10.

The fourth match was a Hardcore match between Edge and Mick Foley. This is UNBELIEVABLE!!!!Barbwire, steel pans, and fire are what made Mick Foley great and this match is what made Mick Foley say Edge is the greatest wrestler in history.Oh and I forgot to mention THUMBTACKS!!!Edge wins. Unbelievable match 9 out of 10.

The fifth match was a Handicap match between Boogeyman vs. Booker T and his wife Sharmell.I really didn't care about this match.Boogeyman wins.5 out of 10.

The sixth match is Mickie James vs. Trish Stratus for the Womens Championshp. One of the best womens matches ever.Mickie wins!6.2 out of 10.

The seventh Match is a Casket match between The Undertaker and Mark Henry.I like this match a lot.'Taker wins.7 out of 10.

The eighth match is match of the year.Shawn Michaels vs. Mr.McMahon in a No Holds Barred match.HBK wins.9 out of 10.

The ninth match is a Triple Threat match for the World Heavyweigt Championship.Kurt Angle vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Randy Orton. The Match should have been longer but they made every minute worth watching.Rey finally wins the big one.8.5 out of 10.

The tenth match isn't even worth mentioning.

The eleventh match and the main event John Cena vs. Triple H for the WWE Championship. The entrances are great the match was overall great.John Cena wins.'The Champ is here!'9 out of 10.

You get all these matches plus the 2006 Hall of Fame Ceremony in its entirety AND you also get the emotional return of Saturday Nights Main Event in its entirety including a Street Fight between Shane McMahon and HBK which is a copy of the Montreal Screwjoband a beer drinking contest between Stone Cold and JBL.This is a must have!
B000EQ5PUA50A2ZMWQHQOZ6WP7A2ZMWQHQOZ6WP7Joseph LawsonCerebral AssasinLas Vegas02008-09-26ONE OF THE GREATEST WRESTLEMANIA EVERI have seen EVERY wrestlemania to date in its entirety, i have witnessed some serious flops for main events and undercard matches, AKA (EVERY john cena match) is mockable to say the least, and its credibility is usually saved by the opponent he has in the ring and that was definately the case with their main event square off in the main event. HOWEVER this card was powerful and had my eyes glued to the screen on more than one occasion. A DEFINATE MUST BUY!

Carlito & Chris Masters vs Kane & Big Show: Bad opener. Carlito is an amazing wrestler but putting him in the ring with Big Show and Kane, Two completely different atmospheres, put on a decent show but could have been definately saved for RAW. 5/10

MONEY IN THE BANK!; Shelton Benjamin vs Ric Flair vs RVD vs Finlay vs Matt Hardy vs Lashley: This was ONE AMAZING match! From the opening bell it was instant action and high flying moves, and you even see Ric Flair fly high! All of these men are amazing performers and you see all of them in their element! amazing finish as it should be! 10/10

JBL vs Chris Benoit: Chris Benoit had been getting underjobs after he dropped the title after WM 20. He was a world champion and was deduced to a US Champion and then was screwed out of that title. very soon after he died, so you kinda wish he had better matches but he and JBL didnt mesh well and the match was very basic, not horrible but predictable and basic. wouldnt hurt to miss it. 4/10

Edge vs Mick Foley: Quite possibly the best match on the card. Mick Foley had never been a showstopper or a high flyer or the powerhouse, but that guy can take a beating and sell it better than anyone else, that night he and edge tore each other apart. a true hardcore match that saw some amazing things! you have to give it up to EDGE he really put himself on the line and cut himself up pretty bad and gave it all to the fans as Mick did. a true wrestlemania classic!

Mickie James vs Trish Stratus: I for one enjoyed this match alot. i never watch the womens matches on any card but i watched this one. besides the fact that mickie james and trish stratus are gorgeous and in provocative positions all match long, they did some high flying risk taking stuff! it was also cool to see the crows get so much into it, and the storyline going in was mickie james was the psychotic trish stratus stalker (heel) and trish was the typical hottie (face) but the crowd turns on stratus mid match and starts cheering for mickie! everytime startus hits a move the crowd boos like crazy. a good match but the ending sucked, really let me down. 7/10

Mark Henry vs Undertaker: Undertaker undefeated at WM, but Mark Henry? come on! hes been a jobber since 98". and your going to pit him against teh undertaker at the grandest stage? not a good choice, extremely predicatable and very short Taker is a great wrestler and a great showman, but even taker couldnt save this one. 4/10

Shawn Michaels vs Mr McMahon: BEST MATCH ON THE CARD; ONE OF THE BEST WRESLTMANIA MATCHES EVER!! McMahon complimented Michaels so well in this match and vice versa. Vince took so much abuse from Shawn you almos felt bad for the demonic mcmahon..almost...lol this match really hit it on the herad what a wrestlemania match was supposed to carry as far as amazement and showcasing. Mcmahon is not a wrestler but he didnt need to be to steal the show with shawn. I loved it when shawn saluted the crowd with teh DX chop, the crowd went nuts i loved it, unbenounced to be Triple H would also do it later! and DX was reformed shortly after wrestlemania 22. One of the showstoppers best

Kurt Angle vs. Randy Orton vs. Rey Mysterio: This match delivered, however for me i never believed Rey Mysterio to be a main event guy, much less be a World Champion. He just doesnt get over that much for me. and to be put over so heavily at mania, kinda feels cheezy. the match did deliver in its short time span and they all deliver some pretty spectacular moves.
John Cena vs. Triple H: (WWE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH)
I have always respected the Game as a face or a heel. he gives everything he has every match, not to say John Cena hasnt or doesnt work hard, i just felt that he was put over way too soon without earning his spot, like the greats did, Steve Austin, the Rock, Mick Foley, and of course Triple H. I think people are getting sick of Cena and his basic strategy. He has a mouthpiece and can talk but hes even derived from that tactic! anyway i digress. The main event at this years mania was good, but Triple H made it that way. he sold Cena so well throughout the match that it put both of them over. This stage really set the Game up for a face turn because there was no evolution anymore and it was just triple H so his effort was heartfelt by the fans. One of the Games best. 9/10DescriptionWrestleMania 22
Live from Chicago, IL on Sunday, April 2nd, Raw & Smackdown presents WrestleMania 22.
It is clear what the main character is struggling with - he is a christian who cannot get used to the idea that at heart he is guided by natural forces.. this struggle is very beautifully represented in the scene where the girl next door is making a not so subtle declaration of erotic intention and the police officer is very obviously pained by his own desires..
Later on in the film the phallic symbol is thrown in our face even more deliberately and obviously the man once again recoils in horror at the way nature is embraced by this culture. Other male symbols are also present - the sun is one of the oldest of masculine archetypes.. as are any circular forms and rituals..
The ending of the film is probably what shocked audiences the most at the time of release.. and release is a fitting for the feeling this scene gives to me.. the man has sacrificed all his desires and this is the very core symbol of his self sacrifice.. of course, realized in an external way in order to show the internal.. its all very dream like and precise..
Now for my criticism... I find this film to be very good but at times I feel a complete lack of emotion even though the film is dealing with a very emotional struggle.. I felt no sympathy for the main character.. and even in feeling detatched I did not feel that I had any clearer vision than I would have if I were more connected.. I think if I could identify with the feelings of shock and horror - if I could feel the man's christian sensibility as if it were my own (which it is not) I would be more horrified at the end... so I guess i would recommend this to christian viewers who may have also been shocked by the exorcist.
What I did enjoy about the film was the almost Jung like layers of archetypical ritual.. I think it is a very good movie - but I cannot be among the many who consider it a masterpiece.
B000JVT1U011AX2FEX56HYK2HAX2FEX56HYK2HTeresa DayWiccan MotherMtn. View, CA USA62009-04-11Most Over-Rated Film Ever!I first heard about the Wicker Man in Full Circle's "Top 9 Movie Songs" countdown, placing it as #1 with "Willow's Song". I decided to see it because it was one of the few movies that paid attention to Paganism. I myself(teresa's daughter) am a pagan(wiccan respectively) and thought this movie would do a good job with the subject. I was proven wrong instantly. The antagonization of paganism really caught me off guard. Obviously, too many people non-cinematicaly antagonize paganism anyway, so i should have seen it coming. But i could easily guess I'm one of the few people who didn't turn a suspicious eye or scowl with disgust at the "blasphemy" of the pagan rites. I especially dislike the scenes involving the may-pole and the school. First, the may pole has nothing sinister about it whatsoever except in the eyes of people who's mind is clouded by their desire to snip out any sign of blasphemy in the world. Second, i don't see anything wrong with teaching the phalic symbolism of the may pole. To each their own beliefs, and this community, no matter how un-PC, is no exception. Besides children are already taught related matters about that age in Sex-Ed anyway! I am actually suprised at how unreactive the pagan community was to this movie. I don't know or care how accurate the more "sinister" pagan practices in the movie are, it's a bad thing(and i can't believe i'm saying this) to portray paganism in such a negative way. We need more positive movies about the pagans to clear our name. To clear up any misconceptions any ignorant people had about the craft and our beliefs, we don't hurt or manipulate people using or in the name of the craft, especially burning people in giant wicker men or using magick to seduce mates for our sexual pleasure. By the way, i saw no horror in this film whatsoever, just bull-headedness. I can confidently say the only redeemning quality of this film is the music. The celtic feel is really entrancing, just enough to make me consider purchasing the soundtrack on iTunes. Willow's song in particular is very catchy. All in all, I mean no offense to the reader of this review whatsoever, my first thoughts of the movie were, "How can this piece of crap be so popular?!" My response to myself was that the men were too busy looking at all the nude women, and the rest were giving plaudits to how pro-christian and anti-anything else this movie is. I saw this movie only one, and i don't plan to ever see it again. To those looking for a horror film with good music, put this piece of crap down and look for Sweeney Todd, all people interested in the paganism should step away and pick up the Mists of Avalon. Anybody else, look away from this page, forget what you saw, and seek another film. This has to be the most over-rated film since Citizen Kane(which by the way was compared to the wicker man. Interesting connection...). Long story short, if i could give this movie 0 stars, i would! )0(B000JVT1U052A21WGIZQD6NCIRA21WGIZQD6NCIRCarielyn SatterleeErikOsborne42009-02-28Complain complain, can't people do better than that?So I have been reading the reviews, why is it that people feel the need to complain so much and what's worst is that they complain about stuff that does not make sence. Take for example the guy who said this movie was "outdated" and that it moves slow... when do you THINK this movie was made? it's nobodies fault that you are used to fast paced films with little plot, but the rest of us like a little more to our movies. This movie is amazing and it has a ton to offer, timeless and priceless.B000JVT1U021A1Q35YCH3GI62ZA1Q35YCH3GI62ZMannyMannyMiami Beach, FL72009-02-19Very dated and extremely slow.I had read great reviews of this film so my wife and I both just watched it and were extremely dissapointed. The film is extremely slow, which sometimes can be great if it builds tension, however in this case it was just boring. Snail pace to a very predictable ending. This is not a horror film at all, so if you want to be scared go elsewhere.DescriptionSpecial 2 - Disc Collectors edition of the Original movie filmed in 1973. Released to coincide with the release of the 2006 Wicker Man starring Nicholas Cage. Features:
Extended version with 11 minutes of additional footage
Theatrical Version
Brand new audio commentary with director Robin Hardy, actors Christopher
Liee and Edward Woodward and moderator Mark KermondeAmazon.comTypically categorized as a horror film, The Wicker Man is actually a serious and literate thriller about modern paganism, written by Anthony Shaffer (Sleuth) with a deft combination of cool subjectivity and escalating dread. (Despite this promising directorial debut, British filmmaker Robin Hardy didn't make another film until The Fantasist, a little-seen thriller released in 1986.) We're introduced to the friendly but mysterious residents of Summerisle (located off the west coast of Scotland), where the isolated community enacts rituals that seem, at first, to be merely unconventional. When called in to investigate an anonymous tip about a missing child, mainland police sergeant Howie (Edward Woodward) is treated as an outsider, and the ominous Lord Summerisle (Christopher Lee) has the inside advantage. As the repressed policeman is taunted by the island's sensuous atmosphere, his investigation leads to increasingly disturbing implications.
With phallic symbols and soothing music at every turn, Summerisle is a pleasant haven for those who perform the pagan rituals of Lord Summerisle's maverick ancestors. These earthy ceremonies are presented with alluring authenticity, and the island's tempting eroticism is fully expressed by the landlord's daughter (Britt Ekland), who fills Howie with barely suppressed carnal desire. (Sirens took a comedic approach to a similar situation in 1994.) And yet the mystery of the missing girl remains, with clues that hint at a darker reality beneath the colorful local customs. When that reality is ultimately discovered, Howie becomes the crucial element in the islanders' most elaborate ritual, which is where the film's title comes into play. It may not be horror, but it is horrific, and this makes The Wicker Man an unforgettable film. --Jeff ShannonB000JYW5DWThe Wicker Man (Widescreen Unrated/Rated Edition)B000069I0ADon't Look NowB00006GOF7The Wicker ManB000S0GYRUSuspiria (2-Disc Special Edition)B000MV8ABSPhantasm579588General579580British Cinema284926By Country163313Art House & International404276Genres130DVD139452Video722735011General AAS579580British Cinema284926By Country163313Art House & International404276Genres130DVD139452Video468130Horror466674Cult Movies404276Genres130DVD139452Video163390General163379Drama404276Genres130DVD139452Video163407General163396Horror404276Genres130DVD139452Video923878General512030Mystery & Suspense404276Genres130DVD139452Video292287Mystery512030Mystery & Suspense404276Genres130DVD139452Video163442General163431Science Fiction & Fantasy404276Genres130DVD139452Video417788Cilento, Diane416120( C )404278Actors & Actresses251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video418190Cole, Michael416120( C )404278Actors & Actresses251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video422004Ekland, Britt421742( E )404278Actors & Actresses251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video431096Kemp, Lindsay430468( K )404278Actors & Actresses251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video433004Lee, Christopher432148( L )404278Actors & Actresses251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video453234Woodward, Edward451116( W )404278Actors & Actresses251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video453644Young, John453438( Y )404278Actors & Actresses251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video349380011Cult Classics347916011Anchor Bay Horror Store251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video349391011Legendary Horror Icons347916011Anchor Bay Horror Store251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video349385011Special Editions347916011Anchor Bay Horror Store251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video349399011Witch Craft347916011Anchor Bay Horror Store251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video355646011All Titles347916011Anchor Bay Horror Store251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video457586Hardy, Robin403504( H )403502Directors251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video355715011General355678011British Cinema355667011Foreign & International251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video919296Special Editions295214Fully Loaded DVDs251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video579556( W )579510Titles251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video387546011DVD387545011Format (binding)386709011Refinements130DVD139452Video390121011Widescreen390118011Picture Format (format)386709011Refinements130DVD139452Video405388011R405383011MPAA Rating (feature_browse-bin)386709011Refinements130DVD139452Video405391011US & CA DVDs: Region 1405390011Region (feature_two_browse-bin)386709011Refinements130DVD139452Video5620890111970 - But i could easily guess I'm one of the few people who didn't turn a suspicious eye or scowl with disgust at the "blasphemy" of the pagan rites. Long story short, if i could give this movie 0 stars, i would! )0(B000FUF6QS52A21WGIZQD6NCIRA21WGIZQD6NCIRCarielyn SatterleeErikOsborne42009-02-28Complain complain, can't people do better than that?So I have been reading the reviews, why is it that people feel the need to complain so much and what's worst is that they complain about stuff that does not make sence. Take for example the guy who said this movie was "outdated" and that it moves slow... when do you THINK this movie was made? it's nobodies fault that you are used to fast paced films with little plot, but the rest of us like a little more to our movies. This movie is amazing and it has a ton to offer, timeless and priceless.B000FUF6QS21A1Q35YCH3GI62ZA1Q35YCH3GI62ZMannyMannyMiami Beach, FL72009-02-19Very dated and extremely slow.I had read great reviews of this film so my wife and I both just watched it and were extremely dissapointed. The film is extremely slow, which sometimes can be great if it builds tension, however in this case it was just boring. Snail pace to a very predictable ending. This is not a horror film at all, so if you want to be scared go elsewhere.Product DescriptionWhen a young girl mysteriously disappears Police Sergeant Howie (Edward Woodward of THE EQUALIZER) travels to a remote Scottish island to investigate. But this pastoral community led by the strange Lord Summerisle (a brilliant performance by the legendary Christopher Lee) is not what it seems as the devout Christian detective soon uncovers a secret society of wanton lust and pagan blasphemy. Can Howie now stop the cult s ultimate sacrifice before he himself comes face-to-face with the horror of THE WICKER MAN? Britt Ekland Diane Cilento and Ingrid Pitt co-star in this provocative shocker written by Anthony Shaffer (SLEUTH FRENZY) that fans and critics worldwide still consider a true cult classic and a modern horror masterpiece. This is the acclaimed U.S. theatrical version of THE WICKER MAN now fully restored from original vault materials for the first time ever. System Requirements:Running Time 88 Mins.Format: DVD MOVIE Genre:Â HORROR Rating:Â R UPC:Â 013131478495 Manufacturer No:Â DV14784Amazon.comTypically categorized as a horror film, The Wicker Man is actually a serious and literate thriller about modern paganism, written by Anthony Shaffer (Sleuth) with a deft combination of cool subjectivity and escalating dread.
--Jeff ShannonB000JYW5DWThe Wicker Man (Widescreen Unrated/Rated Edition)B000069I0ADon't Look NowB00006GOF7The Wicker ManB000S0GYRUSuspiria (2-Disc Special Edition)B000MV8ABSPhantasm579588General579580British Cinema284926By Country163313Art House & International404276Genres130DVD139452Video722735011General AAS579580British Cinema284926By Country163313Art House & International404276Genres130DVD139452Video468130Horror466674Cult Movies404276Genres130DVD139452Video163390General163379Drama404276Genres130DVD139452Video163407General163396Horror404276Genres130DVD139452Video923878General512030Mystery & Suspense404276Genres130DVD139452Video292287Mystery512030Mystery & Suspense404276Genres130DVD139452Video163442General163431Science Fiction & Fantasy404276Genres130DVD139452Video417788Cilento, Diane416120( C )404278Actors & Actresses251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video418190Cole, Michael416120( C )404278Actors & Actresses251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video422004Ekland, Britt421742( E )404278Actors & Actresses251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video431096Kemp, Lindsay430468( K )404278Actors & Actresses251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video433004Lee, Christopher432148( L )404278Actors & Actresses251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video453234Woodward, Edward451116( W )404278Actors & Actresses251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video453644Young, John453438( Y )404278Actors & Actresses251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video349380011Cult Classics347916011Anchor Bay Horror Store251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video349391011Legendary Horror Icons347916011Anchor Bay Horror Store251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video349399011Witch Craft347916011Anchor Bay Horror Store251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video355646011All Titles347916011Anchor Bay Horror Store251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video457586Hardy, Robin403504( H )403502Directors251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video355715011General355678011British Cinema355667011Foreign & International251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video579556( W )579510Titles251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video387546011DVD387545011Format (binding)386709011Refinements130DVD139452Video390121011Widescreen390118011Picture Format (format)386709011Refinements130DVD139452Video405388011R405383011MPAA Rating (feature_browse-bin)386709011Refinements130DVD139452Video405391011US & CA DVDs: Region 1405390011Region (feature_two_browse-bin)386709011Refinements130DVD139452Video5620890111970 - 1979562084011Decade (feature_three_browse-bin)386709011Refinements130DVD139452Video617866011English598208011Original Language (theme_browse-bin)386709011Refinements130DVD139452Video671505011Standard Edition603112011Special Editions (feature_four_browse-bin)386709011Refinements130DVD139452Video643791011Grade Level (feature_five_browse-bin)643792011Preschool643793011Kindergarten643794011Elementary School643800011Middle & High School643808011College643809011Post-Graduate386709011Refinements130DVD139452Video671506011Audio Type (feature_six_browse-bin)671507011Digital Sound671508011Dolby671509011Surround Sound386709011Refinements130DVD139452VideoR1X540QFE4W40GHappy St Patrick's Day: Movies Any True Celt Should Be Aware OfRHKLH7SGQSRSAMovies Where *Evil* WinsR1GDUAGLA5OM5Ntop Horror movies ( Cult Classics )RL9AEZ6NP05TOut of Print ANCHOR BAY: Part 9R1UN1J66QSUQ2HHorror Films for the Discerning EyeR2QIC657672T6MTop 80 Best Scary Movies of All TimeR1OP5IJCG290DYThe Wicker ManR1V0AHN74RA69ZMy favorite movies -- not all of them well-known, though! Riding south across the desert, a gunslinger named Chuka comes across a broken-down and stranded stagecoach with two passengers, one of them a woman from his past. Chuka escorts them to the nearest fort, Fort Clendennon, only to find a worst situation. The Arapaho are on the warpath and seem on the verge of a huge attack. What's worse is that the fort's garrison are the dregs of the cavalry, men sent their as a sort of punishment. Can Chuka figure out what to do before the coming attack? The action is good here, especially a knock-down, no holds barred fight between Chuka and an army sergeant played by Ernest Borgnine, and the final battle is a memorable one, fairly graphic too for the times. Not a huge budget here and the movie was filmed on an indoor set for the fort, but the story and cast overcome the flaws. Definitely give this one a try.

Rod Taylor leads a very capable cast as Chuka, a cowhand turned hired gun who meets a woman he loved from his past. Taylor played several anti-heroes in westerns, and is very good here as he builds up an impressive kill count. Ernest Borgnine is good in a tough guy role as Sgt. Otto Hahnsbach, the tough sarge who remains loyal to the fort's commander when everything points against it. John Mills plays Colonel Stuart Valois, the commander of the fort who yearns for the good old days with his British regiment in India. Italian beauty Luciana Paluzzi makes the most of a somewhat unnecessary part as Veronica, a Mexican woman with lots of money who may still have feelings for Taylor's Chuka. James Whitmore has a good role as Lou Trent, the grizzled old head scout who clashes with Valois and sides with Chuka. It's an all-around good cast that makes an average movie a notch above the rest.

The DVD, a good deal at around $10, has the movie in a high quality widescreen presentation but since the movie was filmed mostly on an indoor set, there's only a few shots of the California locations. No special features at all, but the print of the movie is a good one. A very good western that shows how the genre was changing, give Chuka a try!B0007Y08TW50A32BRFEK0EJHSBA32BRFEK0EJHSBDr. Fred R. EichelmanarousSalem,, VA USA02008-06-23The Wild Wild West Italian StyleThis is a pretty good Western, not great, but enjoyable. I titled it "Italian Style", but have no idea where the film was made. The title was in honor of a lady who has not been given the recognition she so richly deserves. Luciana Paluzzi admits that had she not traveled back and forth to her home in Italy she might have had a bigger career by sticking to one country. Whatever the reason for her not being fully recognized, we are happy that she made films and TV appearances here as she is truly outstanding. I have to add that she is one of the best of the Bond women.B0007Y08TW51ADEA5JYJ8KC47ADEA5JYJ8KC47TworiversTworiversS.C.12008-04-05ChukaChuka is a wandering gunfighter that happens to get involved in a dispute between some starving indians and an oddball assortment of misfits at a calvary fort.In the middle of this Chuka meets an old flame traveling with her young female charge that have to hold up at the fort. After the battle army higher ups try to find out what happened to the troops and civilians ,there is only the post log and 2 fresh graves inside the fort walls,Very good western, has it all, some good scenery, the gunfighter, the army, and the indians, plus the underlying love story.Stars Rod Taylor,Earnest Borgnine and John Mills..........I would give it an A,but like this western and the stars,so that is just me.................. I must say it is everything I remembered. I thought it was a really good western. All the characters are memorable and it is a very compelling and fun movie to watch. Love Taylors character and costume as well as Whitmores as the old grizzled and tough scout. And the friction between the virile Taylor and the impotent Mills is great. And then add to it the hulking Ernest Borgnine who is Mills Sergeant and also the one man who respects and knows Mills and you have one of the best two fisted fight scenes in movie history. Watching Taylor and Borgnine go at it was just a gem.B0007Y08TW52A1ORZ2ZH5MIZCGA1ORZ2ZH5MIZCGKay's HusbandVirginia, U.S.A.22008-01-24STARVING ARAPAHOES

In 1961 a western novel from the pen of Richard Jessup entitled "CHUKA" was published, in 1967 Richard Jessup wrote the screen play for the Paramount Picture also entitled CHUKA.

In an age when the western movie was slowly receding from Hollywood's attention, comes a very well directed and written western story. In the land of the Arapahoe sits a fort in the midst of winter, the Arapahoe are starving, having neither food nor guns and ammunition to hunt or forage for food. Over the adjacent ridge, inside the fort, are food, guns, and ammunition. The Arapahoe have been ignored by the army and are dying of starvation, having no one to turn to, attacking the fort seems to their chief, Hanoo, the only alternative left.

The fort is entirely wiped out, and burnt pretty much beyond use. The soldiers and other inhabitants? Well, all but a couple are killed. To understand this one must watch the film, I do not rattle off plots as others, wanting to leave to each viewer's discretion just what opinion they form of the film just watched.

I sometimes feel, however, as I write these reviews that the film I have seen is somehow not the film other reviewers, based upon their reviews, have seen. In this present case, if you enjoy westerns, it is beyond me how this movie would not impress. For it is far from the norm where 'oat burners' or 'shoot em ups' are concerned. This is a story with depth of both humans and human nature. It is a varied story, but at its vortex very much a love story, not only between a man and woman but also of love of courage, fidelity, and most of all, duty.

Watch this film from 1967 and see what you think. Should it not be one of your favorites, it may at least give not only entertainment but also a cause for some thought. Exactly how does it end or what is the meaning of the ending we are given. Fill in the blank, there seems to be no wrong answer.
Semper Fi.DescriptionThroughout the West, one name means action: Chuka! Tension builds for soldiers guarding a besieged prairie fort against Indian attacks. Their nerves are frayed and their spirits are dying. But there's a glimmer of hope: the lone gunfighter who's come to help them is the man called Chuka!Amazon.comRod Taylor co-produced the 1967 Chuka and stars as the titular gunslinger whose lonely path leads to a U.S. Army outpost manned by foul-ups, degenerates, and a half-mad, alcoholic commander (John Mills). Surrounded by starving Arapaho Indians clearly getting ready to massacre the fort's inhabitants, Mills' character, Colonel Valois, refuses to yield to Chuka's demand that everyone clear out and allow the Arapaho to take provisions they need to survive. With Valois drunk and unbending, a creepy second-in-command (Louis Hayward) leading a mutiny, a two-fisted sergeant (Ernest Borgnine) defending Valois against any criticism, and the presence of two Mexican women (one of whom has a romantic past with Chuka) who will not be spared during a slaughter, Chuka does what he can to broker a peaceful way out of the dilemma. Directed by Gordon Douglas (The Detective), Chuka is self-consciously arty (camera angles turn up in the weirdest of places) yet dramatically enthralling. Very much an actor's vehicle that, on the one hand, allows the likes of James Whitmore to wallow in mannerisms, Chuka also features several startlingly emotional scenes. Among them is the aftermath of a brutal fight between Taylor and Borgnine, in which their bloodied characters--too exhausted to speak--communicate mutual respect by pawing at each other's heads, like infant brothers. --Tom KeoghB0002WZTE8ArrowheadB0017MO0WOOnly the ValiantB0002V7O56The High CommissionerB00132D7Y0Man in the Wilderness/The Deadly TrackersB0007Y08UGThe Far Horizons163350General163345Classics404276Genres130DVD139452Video291008General163312Westerns404276Genres130DVD139452Video291054Classics163312Westerns404276Genres130DVD139452Video1693950114-for-3 All DVDs1081720114-for-3 DVD251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video413748Borgnine, Ernest411316( B )404278Actors & Actresses251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video418190Cole, Michael416120( C )404278Actors & Actresses251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video427426Hayward, Louis426368( H )404278Actors & Actresses251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video437426Mills, John434574( M )404278Actors & Actresses251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video440514Paluzzi, Luciana440340( P )404278Actors & Actresses251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video446854Sirola, Joseph444858( S )404278Actors & Actresses251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video449112Taylor, Rod448792( T )404278Actors & Actresses251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video450856Vetri, Victoria450514( V )404278Actors & Actresses251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video452386Whitmore, James451116( W )404278Actors & Actresses251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video456292Douglas, Gordon455972( D )403502Directors251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video3234071Action & Adventure3234061Paramount Home Entertainment468374Studio Specials251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video3234081All Paramount3234061Paramount Home Entertainment468374Studio Specials251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video3234111Classics3234061Paramount Home Entertainment468374Studio Specials251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video579516( C )579510Titles251273011Custom Stores44261011Specialty Stores130DVD139452Video387546011DVD387545011Format (binding)386709011Refinements130DVD139452Video390121011Widescreen390118011Picture Format (format)386709011Refinements130DVD139452Video405384011Unrated405383011MPAA Rating (feature_browse-bin)386709011Refinements130DVD139452Video405391011US & CA DVDs: Region 1405390011Region (feature_two_browse-bin)386709011Refinements130DVD139452Video5620880111960 - 1969562084011Decade (feature_three_browse-bin)386709011Refinements130DVD139452Video617866011English598208011Original Language (theme_browse-bin)386709011Refinements130DVD139452Video603123011Closed Caption603112011Special Editions (feature_four_browse-bin)386709011Refinements130DVD139452Video603113011Dolby603112011Special Editions (feature_four_browse-bin)386709011Refinements130DVD139452Video671505011Standard Edition603112011Special Editions (feature_four_browse-bin)386709011Refinements130DVD139452Video643791011Grade Level (feature_five_browse-bin)643792011Preschool643793011Kindergarten643794011Elementary School643800011Middle & High School643808011College643809011Post-Graduate386709011Refinements130DVD139452Video671508011Dolby671506011Audio Type (feature_six_browse-bin)386709011Refinements130DVD139452VideoR68XDOJOUNDVGIf you want to discover Rod Taylor (1930 - )R361O93F7H74MZThe Best Westerns of Rod Taylor26P2ZU1RFNI0QErnest Borgnine--A CelebrationB00007ELG5http://www.amazon.com/WWE-Mercy-2002-Kurt-Angle/dp/B00007ELG5%3FSubscriptionId%3D1DWXK7HJTP76664KT902%26tag%3Dws%26linkCode%3Dxm2%26camp%3D2025%26creative%3D165953%26creativeASIN%3DB00007ELG559137http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51NHRF0DSWL._SL75_.jpg7553http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51NHRF0DSWL._SL160_.jpg160113http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51NHRF0DSWL.jpg475335http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51NHRF0DSWL._SL30_.jpg3021http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51NHRF0DSWL._SL75_.jpg7553http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51NHRF0DSWL._SL160_.jpg160113http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51NHRF0DSWL.jpg475335Kurt AngleChris BenoitEric BischoffMark CalawayJonathan Coachman1.33:1NR (Not Rated)DVDGenius0651191593262ColorDVDNTSCEnglishOriginal Language1495USD$14.95World Wrestling5932612002-10-205871018542DVDABIS_DVDWorld Wrestling12002-12-171801026121World Wrestling2002-10-20WWE - No Mercy 2002651191593262799USD$7.99434USD$4.341695USD$16.9515111011ATVPDKIKX0DERhttp://www.amazon.com/gp/help/seller/home.html?seller=ATVPDKIKX0DER0.00NewnewkfKKG28oYodimOIzt%2F%2Br5mBlVYCPngPH0NSCuGYqRPy7LaUUPt%2BhCrA1beclWY2H5t8Hm%2BEslRNaqFJwVqKpLw%3D%3D1349USD$13.49146USD$1.4610Usually ships in 10 to 13 daysnow240312-114.06614B00007ELG540A18EV9Q2CW8PH2A18EV9Q2CW8PH2J.
chris jericho & christian vs booker t & goldust
good choice fo an opener good spots. the crowd had a good pop for booker t. the second rope broke on jericho when he went for the lionsault. good ending with jericho getting on the top rope and lionsaulting for the win.

Torrie vs Dawn Marie
nothing very special just a divas macth. the referee gets a lil frisky with Dawn.

Rob Van Dam vs Ric Flair
Good match reason being the different styles in the ring rvd had some good spots with flair being the dirty with low blows here and there.
rvd comes off with the win with a five star frog spash.
ok match good stuff from tajiri
jamie comes off ith the victory.

World Heavywieght champion vs the Intercontinental champion winner take all!
Triple h (world champion) vs kane (IC champion)
first of all it was stupid because it was winner take all it was just the last match with the ic title. so it was just a world title match. what sucked was that they made kane loose to the game which sucked. that was the perfect time for kane to win the title it was his prime. not much wrestling kane chokeslams hhh through announce table. flair comes out to cheat for the lame. kane chokeslams flair then the game pedigrees for the win.

Of course the the most ridiculous storyline out of the bunch was the whole Katie Vick saga between Kane & Triple H. Thankfully the ppv made up for these horrible stories. The ppv would have been a 3 star event but I gave it a 4 because of the awesome Hell in a Cell match and the tremendous tag team bout between Angle/Benoit and Edge/Mysterio.

1. World Tag Team Titles
Chris Jericho & Christian vs. Booker T & Goldust
This match was a good choice for an opener. The match went at a steady pace. Booker had the best showing out of the four. Watch out for the ropes breaking on Jericho towards the end of the match. A very good way to open up the ppv. 3.5/5

2. Torrie Wilson vs. Dawn Marie
This was defiantely the worst match on the card. Even though the two gals kind of impressed me here, the match was still on the sucky side. Torrie did however pulled off a suplex and neckbreaker & a few other nice moves which I was a little shocked to see but this aint anything special. This match is pretty much skip material. 2/5

3. Rob Van Dam vs. Ric Flair
This was a revenge match for RVD for when Flair screwed RVD in his title match at Unforgiven. RVD & Flair has totally, complete different styles of wrestling but these two really worked well with each other in the ring. Van Dam came out pretty sharp, sticking it to Flair in the early going. Once Flair got the advantage he soon works on the leg of Van Dam. Flair really gets dirty in this match. This is one that I can watch again. 3.75/5

4. Cruiserweight Title
Jamie Noble w/ Nidia vs. Tajiri
The cruiserweights put on a nice back and forth match up. Tajiri sure gives Noble a mouthful of kicks. They had a good back and forth mix up with some nice reversals. It had an entertaining after match segment going on. A fun match to watch. 3.5/5

5. Winner Take All
World Champion Triple H vs. Intercontinental Champion Kane
This match could have been a tons of a lot better if they weren't working with the stupid Katie Vick story. That whole thing really degrated the match. Kane and Triple H tryed their hardest to put on a good match. It went very slow at times in the match. It had a few run-ins by Flair and Hurricane where HHH pedigreed Hurricane on the floor. This match defiantely could have been better but it was mostly a disappointment than anything. 3.5/5

6. WWE Tag Team Titles
Kurt Angle & Chris Benoit vs. Edge & Rey Mysterio
This match was a perfect demonstration on what a 5 star tag team match should be like. These four men brought their game and then some to this match. All four men looked very good. The match had some good counters, reversals, and back and forth action. Edge & Mysterio work very well as a team. Angle & Benoit mostly did their own thing once they were in the match. This was a great and competitive tag team match. If it weren't for the hell in a cell, this match would have been match of the night. Fantastic match. 5/5

7. Women's Title
Victoria vs. Trish Stratus
Good match, much better than the one between Torrie & Dawn. It had some good outside ring action. Trish were using her kicks to Victoria's face very effectively. Nice wrestled women's match. 3.25/5

8. Hell in the Cell for the WWE Championship
Brock Lesnar w/ Paul Heyman vs. Undertaker
This was an awesome and brutal match. Undertaker & Brock showed us how differently a hell in the cell match can be, being just as brutal and sedistic fighting in the cell and not out. Taker bleeds buckets in this one. Taker and Lesnar takes a lot of hard hitting and brutal shots. They both used the cell and other things around them very effectively on each other. This was an awesome main event. Match of the night for sure. Probably the best hell in a cell match contested only inside the cell. 5/5***

The hell in a cell match was off the charts. That match is the main reason to check out this ppv. The tag team titles match is very good as well. This was also the PPV where they had good matches there were overshadowed by the crappy storylines going into it and we ended up getting a classic tag team match from four singles wrestlers. For those remembering Kane & Undertaker's storylines at the beginning, you'll get a chuckle out of the opening skit.

World Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho & Christian vs Booker T & Goldust - This was a good opener as both teams worked well with each other here. There's a moment at the end where Jericho goes for the lionsault and the rope breaks for him to land on his face.

Torrie Wilson VS Dawn Marie - The beginning of the "Al Wilson" storyline and just like the storyline, the less said about this...the better.

Rob Van Dam VS Ric Flair - RVD's chance for revenge against Flair for what happened the month earlier at Unforgiven. Two men with two completely different styles actually meshed well here to give us a good match here.

WWE Cruiserweight Champion Jamie Noble w/Nidia VS Tajiri - This was just a decent title match as the aftermath with Nidia was more entertaining than the match.

Unification Match: World Champion Triple H vs. Intercontinental Champion Kane - This was the brainchild of someone's STUPID idea to get rid of the Intercontinental Title so there would be only 1 single's title on RAW. And to top that, they did this horrible controversal storyline regarding Kane & "Katie Vick" that honestly I'm still trying to forget to this day. The match itself was average by main event standards but Lawler just would not get off the whole Katie Vick thing throughout the match to the point that you didn't give a damn about the unification & were just glad that the match was over.

WWE Tag Team Tournament Finals: Kurt Angle & Chris Benoit VS Edge & Rey Mysterio - This was the classic match I was talking about earlier as they put on a wrestling clinic. Rey did his high flyin' lucha libre while Edge held his own in the ring and we all know Benoit & Angle are two of the best in the world. They would go on to have better series of matches involving themselves & Los Guerreros but this was worth the price of admission alone.

WWE Women's Champion Trish Stratus VS Victoria - The match itself wasn't much as it was short & sweet as Trish won but Victoria attacked afterwards to setup their Survivor Series rematch.

Hell in a Cell Match: WWE Champion Brock Lesnar vs. Undertaker - Another great Hell In The Cell bout as they kept it inside the cage while Taker bled like crazy & sold his wrist injury in a brutal match that saw Lesnar put over as a monster. And unlike the World Title match, they didn't concentrate on the crappy "Undertaker cheating on his pregnant wife" soap opera storyline and concentrated on just the match in itself.

In the end, the good heavily outweighed the bad and you also can see two classic matches on this DVD set. I recommend if you can get past the Katie Vick thing.B00007ELG55032006-09-27WWE No Mercy 2002World Tag Team Championship: Chris Jericho and Christian def. Booker T and Goldust

There are plenty of scenes of the hot divas parading around in various states of undress. But what the viewer sees is only a slightly more racy version of what is on any RAW show. The real show is not the ample amounts of female flesh that is not at all well hidden, but what the divas do with that flesh. Indeed, divas like Torrie and Stacy engage is various combinations of pseudo-lesbian activity mixed in with a healthy dose of planned strippings and even more unplanned ones. Even Vince McMahon surely does not expect the weekly viewer to think that whenever two of his divas step into the ring, that both of them will eventually rip one another's flimsy nighties off. What emerges then is a DVD that appeals to the hulking 30 something adolescent who has never outgrown the need to shine his pointy shoes before getting on an escalator. B00006LPHH58232005-10-01Divas should reveal more of their bodies;and wear less clothes. The WWE should let the divas wear less clothes and let us see more action.Example;Torrie should wear a smaller top so we could see more of her;Trish should wear smaller underwear so we could see more of her extremely fat...

When I first saw Survivor Series 2005 on PPV when it aired, I did not think it was that good of an event & was sort of disappointed. However, after renting the DVD, I released that this was a good event but it could have been better (then again there were a few injuries & the unfortunate death of a great wrestler (Eddie Guerrero) that took some steam from this event).

Match #1 Best of Seven Series for the Vacant United States Championship- Booker T vs Chris Benoit. This was not one of those "get you on your feet" openers but it was a good showing between these two even though it is not the best I have seen from these two.

Women's Champion Trish Stratus vs Melina. The first inter-promotional match of the night & it was one of the better women matches that occurred in 2005 considering how the division (at the time) had only 3 women who could actually wrestle. As D.P. stated, the only thing bad here was Tazz trying to talk over Joey Styles, which was really annoying.

Last Man Standing Match- Triple H vs Ric Flair. This did not top their previous Cage match at Taboo Tuesday or was not on the level as Triple H's classic Last Man Standing match with Chris Jericho in 2000 still that does not mean that these two did not put up the match of the night. Triple H was really aggressive here & brought out the best performance out of Flair at this time in his career which was similar to their last encounter before Triple H put Flair "out of his misery".

Normally, I would not comment on certain things like this but "The Cutting Edge" segment with Edge & Lita was entertaining as they talk down the crowd pretty good. Again, I would prefer this happening on RAW since people payed money to see action but I will forgive it this time.

WWE Champion John Cena vs Kurt Angle w/Special Referee Daivari. This match did not even come close to their Unforgiven encounter or top neither of their past matches as the main focus here was to get the crowd to cheer for Cena over Angle than about delivering a good match. Angle tried & even though this match is watchable, that stupid referee angle just ruined this match for me (Kurt does not need a ref to beat anyone..above all else Cena).

Eric Bischoff vs Theodore Long. The second inter-promotional match & the less said the better...because this was just horrible & the Boogeyman is just a dumb gimmick.

Elimination Match- Shawn Michaels, Kane, Big Show, Carlito & Chris Masters vs Batista, Rey Mysterio, Bobby Lashley, J.B.L. & Randy Orton. Before I start, once again I have to quote D.P. about this matter but FIRST OF ALL, PRESS THE MUTE BUTTON because Tazz & Cole (mostly Tazz) just wouldn't shut up & were more concerned about shooting & attacking over the RAW announce team to the point where I think Joey Styles took off his headset & just sat there because he was not participating in this match at all (and I don't blame him). Besides that, this was a great main event as I have always enjoyed this "wild card" type of scenario where the heels & the faces are forced to team up in order to survive the elimination matches. You saw moments of J.B.L. & Mysterio working together or HBK helping out Masters & Carlito, which you really see. Once the new comers were eliminated, the veterans put on a great show with Randy Orton continuing his undefeated Survivor Series record (till 2006 but that's another story).

The return of the Undertaker came at the end where he basically beat up the "B" SmackDown superstars before staring down Randy Orton to set up their Hell In A Cell match a month later at Armageddon, which was suppose to happen here but Orton replaced the late Eddie Guerrero in the main event.

DVD extras include Shane McMahon visiting Teddy Long backstage before being confronted by the Boogeyman, Kurt Angle & Davari's visit to the [...] interview area after his match, and Maria asking what Vince McMahon's favorite S. Series moment was (Survivor Series 1997 rings a bell here) followed by video clips of Survivor Series moments.

In the end, the positives outweight the negative & considering most are selling this event at a cheap price, if you have spare cash to spend, this is worth a purchase or in my case, rental.B000AOEPUM42A3L2HATRKKXVHSA3L2HATRKKXVHSScotty 2 Hotty 24LiL NozeBack Woods, GEORGIA22008-10-19The End is Near for OrtonSurvivor Series was a positive event that hosted from Detroit. It had a solid card with one bad dud that really didn't belong here. The only negative about this event is the bickering between the Raw and Smackdown announce teams whenever they would call a match together. Other than that, this is a good ppv.

1. Match 1 for the U.S. Title
Chris Benoit vs. Booker T w/ Sharmell
This opener was quite good and one of the better matches of the night. They have had better before. This match was very competitive. Downside was only when Sharmell interferes towards the end but very good first match of the series. 4/5

2. Women's Title
Trish Stratus w/ Mickie James vs. Melina w/ Nitro & Mercury
We haven't seen much of Melina in the ring up to this point but she looked really decent in there compared to trish. Nitro and Mercury gets ejected early in the match. Trish mostly keeps this match good to watch. Pretty strong match from the divas. 3.5/5

3. Last Man Standing
Ric Flair vs. Triple H
For those who does not believe Flair can still take a viscious beating, than you need to see this match. Even though flair gets beat down for majority of the match, he still comes back strong and sticks it to the game. flair gets very bloody. This was a great match but I enjoyed their cage match from Taboo Tuesday more. Match of the night for me. 5/5

This is the part in the ppv where Edge and Lita debuts the "Cutting Edge" and starts to degrate the city of Detroit. Truly a segment only for the Rated R Superstar.

4. WWE Title with Diavari as the referee
Kurt Angle vs. John Cena
This was a huge let down for Vince McMahon. Vince tryed so hard to get the fans to cheer for Cena in this match by putting Angle with Diavari but the fans totally shoved it back into Vince's face. The fans was very electric in this match and mostly behind Angle. It was kind of cheesy with all the referee's coming out. Angle and Cena had a good match with what they were working with. Their match from Unforgiven I felt was better though. 3.5/5

5. Eric Bischoff vs. Teddy Long
This match of course is the dud. It was purely for entertainment value and nothing else. I did find this match very entertaining. Boogeyman comes out and makes his debut in this match. Entertaining but really aint worth rating.

6. Smackdown vs. Raw Survivor Series Elimination Match
Team Raw- Shawn Michaels/Kane/Big Show/Carlito/Chris Masters vs. Team Smackdown- Batista/JBL/Rey Mysterio/Bobby Lashley/Randy Orton

This match was more annoying to watch than anything. Tazz and Michael Cole would not shut up for the sake of the fans viewing. They would try and try to talk over the King, Joey Styles, & Coach where it got to the point you didn't care about the match, you only hoped the arguing would stop.

This was traditional Survivor Series rules of course. The younger guys would expectingly get eliminated first and leave the fight to the higher and superior guys. It got better once it came down to 3 on 1. Orton and hbk did a good job. The endig would lead to the return of the Undertaker where he would go after orton and beat up the "B" team of the smackdown roster to set up his match with orton at Armageddon. If you shut out Tazz and Cole, this is a very good Survivor Series match. 5/5

Survivor Series is one i recommend. I just hope we do not ever see another smackdown vs. raw survivor series match again. B000AOEPUM31A3STFVPM8NHJ7BA3STFVPM8NHJ7BA. PierreSomewheres22007-12-11Survivor Series 2005Each Survivor Series we see less of the traditional elimination matches that made this PPV fun to watch. This years event had a few highlights but a really weak main event.

Booker T VS Chris Benoit: Good match but they've had better matches in the past and in this series.

Trish VS Melina: Yawn

Triple H VS Ric Flair: Triple H was very believable in this match for some reason. This two put on an excellent last man standing match but I hated the ended. The only real reason to see this PPV.

Kurt Angle VS John Cena: WWE wanted Cena to be Hogan like so they put him over better wrestlers. Kurt Angle was just one of the wrestlers to suffer the Cena syndrome. Too bad for Kurt, although I hate him now in TNA. Not because he switched to TNA, because he is on the Impact show every ten minutes and its really annoying.

Eric Bischoff VS Teddy Long: Really...come on. I know the theme is Raw VS Smackdown but they could have done something better then this. Right now its shaping up to be one of the worst PPVS of the year.

Raw VS Smackdown: It says 37 minutes left. Too bad the action starts at 24 and the match slowly drags. I liked the heels and babyfaces as a mixed team; Its good Smackdown won but the match was stupid. The commentary during the match was pretty amusing though. Undertaker returns after this and Ortons nearly craps himself.

One of the worst PPVs of the year. Only reason to see it was Ric Flair-Triple H last man standing match or if your a fan of seeing the Undertaker returning after a vacation.
MNM VS Animal and Heidenrich: I dont know why the called this LOD. Animal is out of shape but can still wrestle. The match was a fun opener but ruined by commentary. Cole says that LOD never won the Smackdown tag titles (not crap since Hawk died a few years back) and what a coo it would be if they could win it for Hawk. Meaning, the new LOD will win the tag titles at least for a few weeks. Good match but the ending didnt send chills up my spine like it did to Michael Cole.

Booker T VS Christian: Match of the night. I think someone called this match average but its way better then average. Ill admit Christian is not the greatest wrestler ever but can put on a match sometimes. This is one of those times. I loved the ending to the match.

Chris Benoit VS Orlando Jordan: This is where the show gets boring. I hated Jordans run as US champion because he never did anything. Of course, a month later Benoit would destory Jordan in 30 seconds for the title. This match though was far too long.

The Undertaker VS Mohammed Hassan: Dumb match. The ending though was something to see.

Mexicools VS BWO: They gave 3 talented wrestlers (Mexicools) five minutes to wrestle. Stupid

Eddie Guerrero VS Rey Mysterio: Great story to lead up to this match. The match ended out of nowheres but was a great match. They'd have a even better match at Summerslam but still a good match.

Melina VS Torrie Wilson: BATHROOM BREAK!!!!!

JBL VS Batista: Loved JBL's entrance here. The match was boring and not the best match ive seen. Ending sucked

Overall, a good PPV with a few bad matches. I saw a house saw with mostly the same card and it was way better then this PPV. Also, Ric Flair-Sting was an extra on the dvd and a reason why I bought the dvd. It was a good match but nothing to speical.
LOD vs MNM
Heidenreich is like orlando sucks never cool (at Judgment Day they proved each other with the worst match ever literally)animal is to old MNM is to good for this. WWE Fired like 20 poeple couple weeks prior to this 2 being Buuba & Dvon dudley y will never know but should have been dudley boyz vs MNM that would have been better
B0009YNSME1462006-07-08Royal Rumble 2006 is more garbage than thisI don't get why everyone says this is the worst pay per view ever in my opinion Royal Rumble 2006 is more garbage than this. Both events had crappy main events but the reason Batista vs JBL was so boring was because it was so long and there was no wrestling only brawling. But Kurt Angle vs Mark Henry was half the length of Batista vs JBL and in my opinion that match was alot crappier than Batista vs JBL because even though Kurt Angle won the match he won with a rollup. Both events had Rey Mysterio in the best match. But at least Great American Bash had a better womans match than Royal Rumble.Boogeyman vs JBL was the worst match of the royal rumble but was crappier than the worst match of the great american bash which was the BWO vs The Mexicools. Both events only had one big moment which was Rey Mysterio winning the rumble and Undertaker last riding hassan off the stage. Royal Rumble 2006 had 2 good matches the cruiserweight match and the rumble match. The WWE Championship match was an Ok match but the rest of the royal rumble was garbage. The Great American Bash 2005 had 2 good matches Eddie Guerrero vs Rey Mysterio and Undertaker vs Muhammad Hassan. The rest of the matches were either average or garbage. My point basically is this is not the worst pay per view ever. There are at least 3 pay per view's i know that are crappier than this Armageddon 2003, King of the ring 2002,and Royal rumble 2006 there might even be more. I don't recommend you buy the DVD but i'm just saying that this isn't as bad as everyone claims it to be. It's just not a very good pay per view.B0009YNSME5062006-07-08WWE GAB 2006 Predections1.
Winner : Batista (clean win)
Winner : The Great Khali ( I hope Kane will cost The Undertaker here and at Summerslam 2006 it will be Kane vs The Undertaker)
4. U.S Championship Finlay vs William Regal vs Lashley
Winner : Bobby Lashley
5. Cruiserweight Championship Gregory Helms vs Joey Mercury

THEY CAN'T LET IT BE REAL BECAUSE IF SUPERSTARS WRESTLE WITHOUT FALSE OR STORY TELLING, THEY POSSIBLE HAVE INJURY OR DEATH AFTER EACH ONE MATCH!!!!!!!! IF TNA BETTER THAN WWE THAT'S MEAN TNA HAVE BETTER STORY TELLING OR WWE BETTER. TNA MIGHT WILL BE SUCK AT NEXT 15 YEARS LIKE HAPPENED TO WWE NOW. LONG AGO, WWE IS BEST AND NOW WWE STILL BEST FOR ME BUT NOT FOR SOME ONE, IT WILL HAPPEN TO TNA AT NEXT 15 0R 20 YEARS BECAUSE THEY WILL GET OLD. YOU KNOW ABOUT BOXER AND UFC. THEY IS NO BIG POPULAR SPORTS. DO YOU KNOW WHY? BECAUSE THEY ARE REAL AND THEY FEAR TO FIGHT BECAUSE IT WILL BE HURT SO BADY. WWE & TNA ARE FALSE, THE SUPERSTARS ARE WRESTLE MORE NONSTOP THAN BOXER/UFC BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO FEAR AND THEY KNEW WILL NOT HURT IF PRUNCH. IF IT REAL, TNA AND WWE WILL BE BORING BUT BETTER THAN BOXER. IF YOU HATE WWE OR TNA BE LEAVE THEM ALONE AND LEAVE THEM RUN AS BUSINESS FOR FANS. I THINK WWE WILL BETTER THAN TNA.
