His character, Bru is absolutely the highlight of this series of films. Chris' comedic talents equal, and sometimes surpass, his father's. It was set locally in Orlando, FL, and though people can pick out inconsistencies or not geographically accurate, the show was so cool! It entertained my youngest daughter, who, at the time, was about 4 and 5 and not yet able to attend Kindergarten, and she actually has never forgotten the show! She was a Hulkamaniac. If you want a show that the whole family can sit, watch, enjoy and feel good after watching, "Thunder in Paradise" is for you! I think Baywatch is one of these shows that got so popular in the 90s that almost every person has already seen at least one episode of it. The good thing is the first seasons of the show are really gr8 and it's really nice to have the opportunity to see them again. I was so pleased to have them released on DVD but... yep, there's a Big But! The bad thing is how the DVD sets have been released. First of all, season #s have been changed. Season 1 on DVD is actually season 2 and season 2, 3 and so on. That doesn't make any sense but let's say I can still deal w/ that now I know. However, when I realized that the opening song was not the same, I got really disappointed. I mean, come on, how's that possible? That song was one very big part of the show! It was part of its success all the way. Another thing that ticks me off is that it seems only us, US people, got s*****d! German releases are just like aired! Yes they are! Opening theme, nothing's missing... So, here's my final say: if you don't really care about those little things, you can buy the US releases, but if you are a big fan, I do suggest you get the German releases (they have English, so no worries). You might also need a Region 2 DVD player. DVD sets are a little more expensive but better to my opinion and 7 seasons have been released so far! Hodson62006-11-21 A disappointment if the little things matter I bought this season (which really should be season 3) of Baywatch episodes because I am a die hard fan of the show. However, this set of DVD's was very misleading and poorly made. If the show started in 1989, then this set is Season 3 not Season 2. The very first 2 episodes of this season which weren't on the DVDs should have been included. It was the episode where Mitch and Hobie got up to the river to go white water rafting gold country and Shauni gets kidnapped by some gold theives. Plus Eddie and Shauni get married at the very end of the 2nd episode. Very disappointing! The theme song, "I'm Always here" performed by Jim Jamison is not the title theme getting replaced by something very cheesy that doesn't even fit the show. None of the music video songs are the same because I remember every episode from that season like it was yesterday. I will buy the other boxed sets, but the only reason why is because Baywatch was my favorite television show. If First look entertainment is going to make more boxed sets, please bring the old theme song back and place some of the missing episodes on future discs or you will have more disappointed customers. Ketterer12007-07-14 Glad I read first I am glad I cam to this site, to read the reviews. I was so happy when I brought home my season 1 of Baywatch. But I soon discovered that it wasn't season one at all. After reading the reviews that it was really season 2, I took it back to the store and got my money back. Thank you to all of the reviewers out there. Now I am going to go the German Amazon site and buy yhem. At that site, season 1 is really season from the NBC network. Season 2, is the syndicated start of the series. And so on. They also have 9 seasons released. And not to worry, I am going to buy a region free DVD player on Bay. The premise of <I>Baywatch</I> is straightforward: a Los Angeles-based team of lifeguards saves swimmers and occasionally fights crime, led by beefcake Mitch Buchannon (David Hasselhoff). And those <I>Playboy</I> models? Erika Eleniak turned a 1989 magazine spread into a role as lifeguard Shauni McClain for two-plus seasons alongside Billy Warlock's Eddie Kramer character (the actors themselves had a brief engagement), and most of the season's action revolved around the lives and loves of Mitch, Shauni, and Eddie. (The most famous <I>Baywatch</I> babe, Pamela Anderson, would arrive the following season.) When they weren't saving people on the beach, they were involved in movie shoots ("Money, Honey"), gang wars ("Point of Attack"), homeless girls ("Sandcastles") and stray pets ("Thin or Die"), a serious charge against Eddie ("The Trophy"), a <I>Gilligan's Island</I> hallucination ("Now, Sit Right Back and You'll Hear a Tale"), and chemical dumping ("The Big Spill"). Hasselhoff's real-life wife, Pamela Bach, appears in a recurring role as reporter Kaye Morgan, Wendie Malick (<I>Just Shoot Me</I>, <I>Dream On</I>) has a small role as Mitch's ex-wife, Gayle, and Tom McTigue plays lifeguard Harvey Miller.<p> Calling this set "season 1" is a misnomer. It's really the final 20 episodes of the second season (1991-92), which was the first season the series was in syndication after being dropped by NBC. (The first two episodes, the two parts of "Nightmare Bay," were previously released on DVD by another studio and are not included here.) In this season, Jeremy Jackson had replaced Brandon Call as Mitch's son, Hobie, and regular cast members Parker Stevenson (as Mitch's friend, Craig Pomeroy) and Shawn Weatherly (as lifeguard Jill Riley) were gone as well. However, the series pilot of the real season 1, called "Panic at Malibu Pier," is included as a bonus. I love BAywatch, but I simply can't watch the series on dvd. I feel like I just threw money away, like being cheated on. The theme song has been altered, as have the end credits. And as if that wasn't enough, many of the music clips during the episodes, have other songs. It simply doesn't work, as I've come to love the music montages. I want the true show on dvd, with the original music and montages. If shipping to the US weren't so expensive, I'd ship the three season I have straight back to Fremantle. Only flaw is that some of the best cast comes in later during the series. Erin Gray, for example, doesn't appear until season 8. Remember Erin Gray? Buck Rogers and the 25th Century? The hyperdrive plot finds Mitch Buchannon (David Hasselhoff), presumed dead at the end of season 10, alive and well and in love with a woman named Allison (Alexandra Paul), who bears a spooky resemblance to Mitch's late lover, Stephanie. Wedding plans that include the old <I>Baywatch</I> lifeguard crew (Pamela Anderson, Yasmine Bleeth, Billy Warlock, etc.) are set for Hawaii, but in a <I>Wrath of Khan</I>-like twist, a villain (Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa) from the old show's second season turns up with an elaborate plan to kidnap and endanger Mitch's guests. I used to have a lot of Baywatch's from tv taped on some videos but this is the only one i have now,and it's the actual video as represented here. It's a unique episode in which it's the only one in Baywatch history that features my three favorite blonds on the same episode...that being Pamela Anderson,Nicole Eggert and Erika Eleniak. You see,Erika's last show was this one and it happened to be Pamela's first.This is also Nicole's debut episode. So,thats a little Baywatch trivia i guess. Anyhow,decent story with awesome scenery as it takes place away from the beach (mostly) and is set somewhere on the Sacramento river. It'll make you wanna go camping watching this. The only sour parts of the show for me was Hobie constantly singing that gold miners song (you wanna strangle him after the 2nd time) and the fact that Erika (Shauni) cut her hair at some point and has it short. This disc features the Season 2 pilot episode called Nightmare Bay. Gone are Parker Stevenson, Brandon Call and Shawn Weatherly only to be replaced in this episode by Jeremy Jackson as Hobie, Tom McTigue as Harvey and for this episode only Andrea Thompson as Devon Connor. David Hasselhoff, Billy Warlock and Erika Eleniak remain from season 1. This was a good episode in places including a great rescue scene featuring Erika Eleniak (Shauni) saving a young girl from drowning and befriending her and her family. The rest of the show follows a monster in the bay storyline which turns out to be a mini-sub. The second side of this disc features the pilot episode of season 3 - River Of No Return. This episode sees the debut of a whole new cast of characters including David Charvet as Matt Brody, Pamela Denise Anderson as CJ Parker, Nicole Eggert as Summer Quinn, Kelly Slater as Jimmy Slade and Susan Anton as Jackie Quinn. This episode also features the marriage and departure of Eddie (Billy Warlock) & Shauni (Erika Eleniak) after a white water rapids adventure with Mitch, Hobie and CJ. Parker(Pamela Anderson) a local kayak fanatic which joins them into the rapids of the river.<p>After locating the secret location of the treasure they are captived by the hunters,they escape,are pursued by them and finally they lost the gold located on the kayak which broke.<p>Finally there is a rookie swimming contest on the beach to qualify for Baywatch,CJ Summer and Matt and his friends qualifies winning the race.<p>The Dvd transfer is good,clear and full screen ratio with clear sound.However no subtitles nor captions are avaliable.<p>I'm waiting to see more episodes transfered in special the ones with Jasmine Bleeth.<p>I wanna more episodes!!!!.DescriptionSide 1: Nightmare Bay - When an underwater photographer is attacked inside a sea cave, she is saved by lifeguard Mitch Buchannon.
