Eliza Naumann is seemingly the least remarkable member of a family of over-achievers. All that changes when she unexpectedly wins a spelling bee. But, while this brings her some much-appreciated recognition and support from her university professor father, the event, along with Eliza's subsequent bee victories, has negative consequences for her parents' marriage.
